Dr. Gabril, MD, FRCPC, MSc, completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada which was followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology and genitourinary pathology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and Credit Valley hospital. Dr. Gabril has been participating as an anatomical pathologist at University Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre since 2007. In addition, she is an Associate Professor of Pathology in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department at Western University. Her main areas of professional interest are genitourinary pathology, skin pathology and nephropathology. Dr. Gabril is actively involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching especially in genitourinary pathology. She is a member of the Royal College Examination Board in Anatomical Pathology.
Dr. Gabril completed a master’s degree in prostate cancer from Western University. Her major focus in research is on genitourinary cancers, in particular, kidney and prostate cancers. She has conducted multiple research studies including clinical prognostic factors and molecular biomarkers in genitourinary cancer which were recognized by several awards. She is the co-author of 3 chapters in the book “Molecular Pathology in Cancer” and has over 33 peer-reviewed published research papers as well as many scientific abstracts mainly in the area of genitourinary pathology.
