Dr. Brimo obtained his medical degree from the University of Damascus and his pathology training at McGill University where he also completed one fellowship in Cytopathology. He subsequently trained in GenitoUrinary Pathology at Johns Hopkins University and then joined the Pathology Department at McGill University in 2010 in which he currently holds the rank of Associate Professor. In addition to having over 120 articles in major peer-reviewed journals he has written several chapters in major Pathology books such as Urological Pathology, high- yield Uropathology, the 8th edition of the AJCC cancer staging manual and the Paris System for reporting urine cytology. He serves as a reviewer for prominent journals such as AJSP, European Urology, Human Pathology and others. In addition to lecturing in different National and International venues such as the USCAP, he has won several awards including the Canadian Association of Pathology Junior Scientist Award. He is currently the chair of the Canadian Society of Cytopathology.
