Andrew Herzenberg Award / Prix Andrew Herzenberg
Awarded for best resident oral or poster presentation in Nephropathology or Transplant Pathology at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting
Canadian Chairs of Pathology Award in Experimental Pathology / Prix des directeurs canadiens en pathologie / pathologie experimentale
Awarded for the best presentation of an experimental pathology paper, either oral or poster, at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting by a resident, fellow, graduate student, or junior staff member who has been on staff for 3 years or less.
Distinguished Service Award
Awarded in recognition of a CAP-ACP member who has contributed significantly to the development of the CAP-ACP as a truly representative association of all laboratory disciplines in Canada.
Donald W. Penner Awards / Les prix Donald W. Penner
Awarded for the best proffered paper and best poster by a resident at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting (1 award each).
Dr. Donald Rix Award for Resident Travel
Financial assistance for pathology trainees who wish to attend the CAP Annual Meeting to present an original paper or poster.
Hematological Pathology Awards / Les prix pathologie hématologique
Awarded for the best hematopathology proffered paper and best hematopathology poster by a resident at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting (1 award each).
Hugh Curry Awards / Prix Hugh Curry
Awarded for the best poster(s) or paper(s) at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting related to the field of Cytopathology, presented by a resident (1), and a cytotechnologist (1).
Junior Scientist Award
For meritorious scientific work, experimental or non-experimental, in the field of Pathology by a CAP-ACP member who is under 40 years of age.
Leadership In Education Award
Recognizing a member of the CAP-ACP who has shown leadership in education in the CAP-ACP.
Leadership in Patient Safety and Quality Assurance Award
To recognize a member of the CAP-ACP who has shown leadership in patient safety and quality assurance in the CAP-ACP
Lloyd A. Kennedy Pathologists’ Assistant Award
Awarded to a Pathologists’ Assistant in good standing, in recognition of outstanding contribution to continuing professional development in the area of medical laboratory practice
Medical Technologist/Technician Award for Continuing Professional Development
This award is provided by the CAP-ACP to a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician in Pathology (Histology, EM, Genetics, Immunohistochemistry, Cytology) or Hematology, in recognition of his/her outstanding contribution to continuing professional development in the area of medical laboratory practice.
Pathologists’ Assistant Poster Award
Awarded to a Pathologist Assistant and a member of CAP-ACP presenting the best proffered paper or the best poster at the Annual Meeting of the Association.
Pathologists’ Assistant Travel Award
A travel award to assist a Pathologists’ Assistant (PA), practicing in a Canadian Department of Pathology, to attend the Annual Meeting of the Association. Award Amount Up to $300 may be provided for travel expenses not covered by the awardee’s department/hospital/health authority travel funds. The exact amount depends on available funds and number of applicants. Should there be more eligible applicants than funds available, the decision on who will receive the Travel Award will be at the discretion of the CAP-ACP Awards Committee.
Awarded by the President for long and sustained service of an exceptional order to the CAP-ACP in whatever capacity, by an individual, member or non-member, a physician or non-physician.
Resident Travel Award
Assistance for a resident or graduate student of a Department of Pathology who has presented a paper or poster at the CAP-ACP Annual Meeting.
Resident Travel Award – Resident Review Course or Banff Pathology Course
The CAP-ACP has established a travel award to assist PGY4 and PGY5 Residents (Anatomic Pathology, General Pathology, and Hematological Pathology) who are members of the CAP-ACP and wish to attend the Resident Review Course or the Banff Pathology Course. Deadline: October 31
To recognize exceptional work and presentation this award is presented to a student in pathology and a member of CAP-ACP presenting the best proffered paper or the best poster at the Annual Meeting of the Association.
William Boyd Lectureship
This Award was established in 1981 to honour the memory of Dr. William Boyd. The Award recognizes the contribution to Laboratory Medicine of a senior member of the CAP-ACP. The Award recipient delivers the Boyd Lecture at the Annual Meeting and receives an honorarium.
